part one: seattle, back again.

I left the boys to fend for themselves for a few days while I headed to Seattle to visit and to meet up with Taylor & Lauren for the first annual Lundy Girl's Weekend (pics coming soon).

I arrived a few days before the girl's weekend commenced to spend time with the sister. After filling our bellies with deliciousness at Portage Bay we walked over the locks to Discovery Park. Here's Kayla before entering the abyss of foliage.
"oh hey. i'm gonna run a marathon, nbd."

How did I never go here when I lived here?

adorable magnolia house with boat.

The trip was not complete without happy hour action at the fantastic Matador with Carlie, Jenn and Joel (hooray for the best co-workers ever!). As tradition goes, we wrapped up at Cupcake Royale. Yum. Seriously, I could talk about the food and deliciousness of Seattle all day long.

While Kayla left me to serve delicious coffee and pastries to people, I was left to my own devices, so I walked, and walked and walked. 8 miles, up and over Phinney, around Green Lake, to the Zoo. This wasn't my intention, it was just that I couldn't remember which street went back over the 99. Ended up being the best walk ever.

The trip wouldn't have been complete without a stop at Trader Joe's to stock up on some necessities to ship back home (thanks Tay!) along with my goodies from the $1 Japanese store.

I had the pleasure of dining with Darcy 3 times during the trip (see, it does revolve around food...). At the Ro-Ro-BBQ, I got to have dinner with all of my bridesmaids! So fun, yet sad that they are all no where near me :( Darcy and Liz have promised to come to CraftFest 2010 and I think I'd be really sad if that did not happen.

Last thought, the weather was in-freaking-credible while I was up there that the thought crossed my mind that I could live up there. It's just that miserable 4-5 months of cold darkness.

More coming soon for the girl's weekend! We packed in a lot of Seattle-ness into less than 2 days!

incredible afternoon loveliness at golden gardens.
